Team Lummer Land Goes 15-0 and Wins Back-to-Back Championships and 5th Title in 6 Seasons
  Comments (0)

After taking down Gillian Brooke's short handed team Sweet 160-113 we captured Back-to-Back titles and our 5th title in 6 seasons. Jessie and The Good Dr. were the game MVPs as they simply shot the lights out from 3pt territory (Yes I actually did!). This was by far our most successful season thus far as we averaged 143 pts/game and had an average margin of victory of 28. However, the highlight of the season was breaking the 200pt barrier! The closest we came was 177 last season, and, in the great words of Pat Hennelly, I thought 200 was "unpossible"... but apparently it wasn't. Anyway, it was a great season but is also the last (For now) for the Good Dr. as he is now up in Whistler. Nick Vojic will be taking over as team captain so I wish him, and the team, all the best.

Quote of the game: "Just so you know, I haven't lost in 7 seasons..." - Comes from Jessie Evans. She played for the other team that beat us in the final (7 seasons ago) AND she was out with a knee injury when we lost one a couple years back.

12/9/2007 : Lummer Land Takes Down Triple Threat Comments (0)
Anticipating one of our usual Legendary Battles, I brought out the full squad (Keeler included) to battle our long time foe Triple Threat (Although friend off the court). We were a bit dissappointed when they only had 4 guys and 1 girl but we played the game anyway... it was Carrie Watson's stag in Whistler the night before so none of the Watsons were present (Nice going Jess!). We allowed them to play with 4 guys (Albeit not their 4 strongest guys) and still managed to win 154-122. Anyway Jessie Evans was the game MVP as she was out with the Watsons in Whistler and got them really drunk so they were unable to make the game. Jessie was also the Bedshitter as she was out with the Watsons in Whistler and got them really drunk so they were unable to make the game. Vince Wong was also a Bedshitter as he failed to field a team against us! Hopefully if we meet up in the playoffs it will be a better matchup.

11/25/2007 : Team Lummer Land Beats BTR Comments (0)
We managed to get by BTR by a score of 127-92 without Navi for half the game as he twisted his ankle midway through (Listed day to day) and Randy for the last 10 minutes (Hockey game). By the time Randy left we were already up 35 so all we had to do was maintain that lead... and we (Nick, Rudd & Lummer) did just that! Krystal O'Byrne had a great game and was the MVP.
Quote of the Game: "Marcus has a guy 5 feet tall on him!" -Mike Ord after they didn't allow Marcus to post up. Actually Mike, I'm 5'6" (With shoes)! The next trip down the floor Randy busted a 3 on him so I guess height isn't everything.

11/18/2007 : Lummer Land Beats Hoop Dreams Comments (0)
It was a good battle but we managed to fend off Hoop Dreams 130-111. It was nice to have Gerald Cole back on Hoop Dreams who is coming off a knee injury. Aside from that, it was a lot closer than the score shows...

10/28/2007 : Team Lummer Land Gets Shut Out... Oh Wait... Comments (0)
At the end of the game the score board read Dynasty 129 Lummer Land 0... did we lose by 129 or does the score board only go to 199 and won by 71? Suffice to say, we set a KBL record (We held the previous record with 177) with 200 points. It was a solid effort all around but the girls (Chrissy, Jessie & Krystal) were clearly the MVP's as they played amazing and probably had half our points. The Good Dr's hobbled knee was the Bedshitter (How could I be the bedshitter, I assembled this team remember!) as the shot was off balanced all night due to the lack of the knee bending. A good run and hopefully the team can survive without the Good Dr next week as he will be in Hawaii.
Quote of the Game: "Uh oh..." - comes from Jessie when her 3 point shot from the corner hit the top of the backboard... in her defense she probably dropped between 6-8 3's so I'll let that one slide.

10/22/2007 : Team Lummer Land Wins Season Opener Comments (0)
Team Lummer Land got off to a great start this season with a 130-89 win over Barrage. It was the usual run and gun affair, except the "gun" was a little rusty from the extended break... hense the 130. We got off to a great start but struggled in the end to put points on the board. A win is still a win. Eventhough Randy Nohr scored a ton of points, he also shot more air balls than he did all last season and earned himself Bedshitter honours. Mark with his break away dunk earned the game MVP.
Quote of the Game: "God I'm fat" - comes from Mark Tasic after he [barely] threw one down.
