I am a native of Richmond and spent most of my days growing up doing what most young boys do, play sports and video games. If I wasn't playing or coaching basketball or volleyball, I was occupying myself with the latest computer and video game systems. We even had Pong! From there, the fascination with computers and technology grew. After high school I played a couple years of college basketball and volleyball at Kwantlen and Langara College. During this time I also coached athletes between the ages of 13-18 for the Richmond Air Attack Volleyball Club. I spent six years with the club and finally retired from coaching to focus more on my schooling. I went to Langara College to take the Recreation Leadership Diploma program. The program consisted of an internship, which I successfully completed at Sport BC. After networking with the member organizations, I was recruited by BC Alpine Ski Association to manage their website and database. While working at BC Alpine, my desire to creatively and efficiently overcome new challenges drew me back to school. After four years at BC Alpine I decided to go back to school and take the Applied Information Technology program at ITI. I graduated from ITI in January 2002, with distinction and was voted the class representative for our graduating class. I am presently doing consulting work independently specializing in web development. I am also still active with volleyball and ultimate. I also have a personal website, that I maintain, which documents my life in Vancouver. |
