Team Lummer Land Wins 94-62
- September 29, 2003
Well, we managed to beat Jamma 94-62 without Navi
for most of the game (He decided to sit down after about 15 minutes as
we were comfortably pulling away - he still had time to throw down a dunk
though). MVP goes to Jason Rudd as he
was tough on the offensive boards and shot well. New comer Megan
Dalziel was a welcome addition as she's another player who actually
knows how to play basketball. Team Bed Shitter Jessie "Black
Hole" Vaid shot well but failed to realize there were four
other people on the court and shot with out a conscience... would have
been ok if he hit a few of those... which leads us to the quote of the
game:
Navi: "There's a big man who can shoot... some of
the time..." Navi was speaking of
Jessie as he hit a turn around jumper from 12 feet...
and let us know that he can do that... once in a while.
Team Safeway Goes 0-2 - September 26, 2003
Well, we certainly licked balls last night as we lost 2 straight... one
was a legit loss but the other was to a shit bagger team. Bed
shitter award goes to John McParland as he blasted
one into the net for game point of the first match and body checked Jay
Edwards to dig a ball (It dropped) for game point. Greg
"I can't hit a ball in the fucking court" Poitras was
a close second. Anyway, we've started our descent and hopefully it doesn't
last too long. Not much going on this weekend except the Ski &
Snow board Swap at BC Place and hoops on Sunday.
Free Grouse Mountain Season's Pass! $675 Value
- September 25, 2003
That's right, if you want a free seasons pass for Grouse Mountain,
pay Pat Bradley $350 (obo) and it's yours! For Free!
Email him directly at PBradley@mbiotech.com.

Team Safeway Starts Tonight! - September 25, 2003
Well, we are starting ranked #1 on Court 1
so it should be interesting to see how far we tumble before we get our
act together... New recruits Mike Hughes and John
McParland will be sure to get their boots wet tonight...

Team Lummer Terrible
- September 22, 2003
We lost 115-109 to a way smaller team that shouldn't
be within 20 of us. Totally brutes. Bed Shitter,
Angie Pajic, let her check score at will. In Angie's
defence, she had a sore hip, but to not stop her ever, unacceptable. Sorry
Ang, I demand better! Navi scored his
50 so I guess he was the MVP. Anyway,
we blew a 20 point lead so we obviously all licked balls
in the end. Anyway, enjoy your Monday folks!

2003 Team Safeway
- We may not be the best on the court but we certainly
are the best looking...
The Weekend... - September 19, 2003
Family dinner tonight and hoops on Sunday @ 8:40pm...
check out the photos
too.

Team Safeway Tryouts @ 6:00pm Tonight... - September 18, 2003
Tryouts for Team Safeway are being held at Kits
Beach tonight at 6:00pm. If you think you've
got what it takes and have a "Hot Serve", feel
free to come on down...
The Weekend... - September 15, 2003
A couple things...
- Saturday - De La Hoya Robbed! - Well, I thought Oscar
did enough to win the decision over Shane Mosley (Even
Mosley was surprised with the decision!) but the three
judges thought otherwise, even though he landed 221 punches to 127 with
a higher landing percentage. Bush.

Sunday - Team Lummer Land
Wins 88-65 - We managed to beat a scrappy Drizzle
team 88-65. It wasn't a great game for us but a win
is a win. Taryn Wood was this week MVP
as she was very active on both the offensive and defensive ends. Last
weeks MVP Jude Popp was this weeks bed shitter
as he missed a dunk for the second week in a row. Navi's
first week back was a little shaky at the start but he managed to turn
things around in the end.
The Weekend... - September 12, 2003
Not much planned except hoops on Sunday... Tip off is
at 3:00pm against Drizzle and we are
looking to get back on the winning track. Navi will be
there so no worries... Enjoy your weekends folks.
Good Bye Cam & Ginelle - September 10, 2003
Cam Secret and Ginelle Dudley are taking
off to London today to teach for a year. Lummer
Land would like to wish them the best of luck on their endeavours.
Have fun folks!

The Red Shark
- Ace Man's new toy... Passes everything but the gas station...
Congratulations Betty & Mike! - September 8, 2003
Betty (Chuck) & Mike Ramage got married on Saturday
and I must say there were some good eats going on. A few photos from the
event will be posted later... Congratulations guys! Anyway, here's how
the rest of the weekend went.
The Weekend! - September 5, 2003
A couple noteworthy things...
- Saturday - Betty Chuck & Mike Ramage's Wedding
- Ceremony at Bridge's and then a nice Chinese
Banquet down town... good times.
- Sunday - Co-ed Hoops Starts... - Our first game of
the seeding round is against BTR... looks like they're
in trouble as Navi is back for yet another season.
- Saturday - Sunday - Nibbles
& Bites - Good eats in Richmond all
weekend long... The Good Dr. will be there for lunch
on Sunday...
Back To School! - September 2, 2003
For all those heading back to school, sucked in! I would feel sorry for
you but you just had two months off! Anyway, there was a smaller crew
at Brhelle's second camp out of the season but still good times. Ace
Man had the Red Shark (Photo will be posted
later this week) out and it's looking better than ever... hauls WAY more
ass too. Have a good week folks!
I've got the Brewmaster Tourney and the Lake
Tahoe Trip.
Brhelle's Camp Out! - August 29, 2003
We are heading to Langley again for a fireless camp out,
should be interesting, but we will still manage to find a way to stay
warm and have a few beverages... Give me a call if you want to come out,
otherwise enjoy your long weekends!
For Aliqua Concert - August 25, 2003
The Tavia Cosper and the choir girls of Aliqua
put on a great concert on Saturday night. We followed
it up with a "few" bevies at The Frog & Firkin
and then ended up going to the producers house for a few more... good
times. Enjoy your Monday folks!
The Weekend... - August 22, 2003
A couple things...
- Friday - Farewell James & Elga - James
and Elga are heading to Europe today
and Lummer Land would like to wish them well on their
journey. Sorry I missed the gathering on Wednesday
but I was pretty bogged down with work...
- Saturday - Aliqua
Choir - Tavia's choir is performing tonight
and we are heading out for that and then out for a few drinks after...

Mike Ramage
- A "Muff Diver" Shooter...
The Weekend... - August 18, 2003
A couple things...
- Saturday - Mike Ramage's Stag - The boys started
off golfing in the afternoon and then ended up going to Doulin's
Pub and then The Cellar downstairs. This will
be the only picture posted on Lummer Land from that
event.
- Sunday - Beach Volleyball? - Apparently Mr.
Poitras felt it necessary to call the Good Dr.
and play in volleyball tournament... I love playing 13 games of ball
in blistering hot sand (we had to wear socks because the sand was so
fucking hot)... only thing that would have made the day better is if
someone came around and kicked me in the nuts. It was however, a fundraiser
for the kids so it was all good...

For Run Lummer Run & The
Silly Girls - August 12, 2003
Well, it's official, we a re a bunch of losers. Run Lummer Run
lost in the finals of ultimate last night and it wasn't even close...
maybe the other team was catching a different frisbee than us but we certainly
couldn't get a handle on a LOT of easy passes. Oh well,
we won 16 in a row but couldn't win the pivotal 17th.
The entire team was named bed shitter as everyone dropped passes, except
[cough] The Good Dr. No one was the MVP
as we ALL had terrible attitudes when faced with adversity.
Oh well, ultimate is still gay and that's that. On another note, the Silly
Girls' three year reign is over as we lost in the semi finals
to Ray Wada's squad (Who bent over and took it up the
ass in the finals) last Thursday. Totally brutes but
who really gives a shit. That loss drops our record to winning 5 of 8
years... the roster may have to be adjusted for next year...
The Weekend... - August 10, 2003
A few things to report...
- Farewell Diesel... And Grimmer - Mike Dalziel
finished his Masters (Mechanical Engineering
- 94% - What happened to the other 6%? Brutual!) on Wednesday
and took off on Friday to Belgium
to continue his volleyball career with Chad Grim's team.
The Good Dr. would like to wish both of them good luck
on behalf of Lummer Land.
- James & Elga Sneddon Get Married - James
"Cobra" Sneddon and Elga Sneddon
(Formerly Tiamzon) got married on Saturday
and Lummer Land would like to formally congratulate
the happy couple. Don't worry guys, I think it's a very special day,
even more so than a volleyball tournament (Even though weddings generally
happen once in a lifetime and there are about 10 beach tournaments a
year)...
- The Kids Win The Vancouver Stop Pro Tour - The Team
of Dan Casey and Adam Parkes won the
Pro Tour event on Sunday in front
of a capacity, yet boring crowd (Could have been due to the SHITTY
FUCKING MUSIC they were playing - sorry for the profanity but
that's just the way I feel... they didn't play AC/DC
until the Good Dr. demanded it!). Congratulations boys!
The Weekend... - August 8, 2003
Well kids, a couple of family dinners planned for the Good
Dr. so he's gonna do some good eating this weekend. Don't disturb
him during feeding time... on another note, it is the Pro Tour
Volleyball Tournament this weekend down in Kits
so I'll be hanging out there during the day...

Everyone
- The crew for Brhelle's Campout July 2003
Brhelle's Campout Photos Online!
- August 3, 2003
Check em out, they're up!
The Weekend... - August 1, 2003
I've got a couple weddings this weekend so I'm pretty much booked all
weekend. If you guys are traveling this weekend be sure to drive safe...
I'll try to get some photos up soon and catch up as
I'm Back! - July 29, 2003
Well, maybe it doesn't deserve an exclamation mark but I'm glad to be
back anyway. Good times were had by all and I would like to officially
congratulate Jay and Kathleen Lee on behalf of Lummer
Land.
Tahoe... - July 23, 2003
We are headed south for Jay Lee's wedding so I won't
be back until next Tuesday. I will have the laptop with
me so I may have time to get the photos from the weekend posted...
Have a good one folks!
Run Lummer Run Wins Again!
- July 22, 2003
Our two wins over Sticky (13-9) and Hootchimicallits
(11-7) tonight makes it a 14 game winning streak. The
Good Dr. (not for his outstanding plays but for his extreme patience)
and Jenny Wong were the MVPs, while
Andy Christ was the Bed Shitter for
not eating a piece of watermelon that the other team offered us.
Brhelle's Camp Out - July 21, 2003
Yet another gong show. Good times Jay. Next camp out
is scheduled for late August. Photos will be posted later...
Brhelle's Camp Out... - July 18, 2003
We are off to Brhelle's place in Langley
for a camp out in his back yard to drink and sit around a fire. All are
welcome so call my cell if you would like to attend....
Run Lummer Run Continues To
Roll... - July 15, 2003
We managed to win both games of our double header last night against Constantinople
(13-5) and Lucky Charms (13-7). Former team
member/all-star Ryan McKenzie filled in for us as we
were a little short staffed. Ryan was most likely the
MVP while The Good Dr. was the Bed
Shitter due to a sore labia...
The Weekend.... - July 14, 2003
Good times...
- Friday - Shark Club - Didn't end up going to the
C's game but managed to tip a few at The Shark
Club with the Big Idiot...
- Saturday - Sunday - Galiano Island - Michelle
and I thought it would be a good idea to take our bikes over to Galiano
Island and cruise around there... we thought wrong. Galiano
is VERY hilly so it was, shall we say, less than pleasurable for the
Good Dr. Still a great get away, just not an easy one...
The Weekend... - July 11, 2003
FYI...
- Friday - Tailgate Party & C's Game - We are going
to BBQ it up and play some Bocce Ball
before the Vancouver Canadians game and then head on
in and have a few more... We'll be there from 6:00 pm
on... call my cell if you want to come out...
- Saturday - Bimini's - The rumour is that we are going
to Bimini's...
The Big Idiot Is Back - July 9, 2003
Yes, Rich Vanhuizen is back in town and we are heading
out for drinks tomorrow night (Thursday)... we'll most
likely head to Malone's after my co-ed shit league around
9:30pm...
The Weekend... - July 7, 2003
A couple things...

Run Lummer Run Wins... Again
- July 8, 2003
Only one game last night and we managed to make it closer than it should
have been but still came out on top 13-9 against the
Discombobulators. Jenny Wong was clearly
the MVP with great catches and countless defensive knockdowns.
Mike Dalziel was the Bed Shitter as
he couldn't play because he was "sore". Maybe his vagina was
sore.
Quote of The Game comes from Taryn Wood:
"I'll play right mid so I can look at your ass!"
Taryn said this to Carson, aka "Lummer
2.2", as he was playing right cup in our zone defense...
Carson responded with, "I can't believe
you're a teacher..."

X-Rated (2003 Brewmaster Champions)
- Russ was showing a little too much so I had to censor it... the
black dot is also WAY bigger than it needed to be...
- The Junk Yard Dogs Lose In The Finals... Again! -
The Junk Yard Dogs (Tracey Dabrowski, Angie
Pajic, Michelle Whiting, Jenny Wong, Kelly Cooksley, Jay Fredrickson
and The Good Dr.) lost to X-Rated (Liz
Berkner, Dan, Chris Ramsami, Harry Reck and Ray Wada - Brutal
team name guys) in the 2003 Brewmaster Volleyball Final
in two straight sets. This is the first, and probably the last, time
X-Rated has beaten The Junk Yard Dogs...
It was a good final and I was thankful that we didn't have to finish
in the dark. Anyway, I'd like to thank The Brewmaster,
and his parents, for putting on yet another successful event... $10
included bbq burgers, dogs and chili all day long... are you serious?
More photos from this event will be posted later...

Team Lummer Land - John McParland, Mike Dalziel & Danielle
Gaudet (Not Shown) - 2003 K3 Champions
- Boy do they look ugly...
- K3 Defending Chumps, I Mean Champs, More Than Dethroned...
By Team Lummer Land - Team Lummer Land (Danielle
Gaudet, Mike Dalziel & John McParland) handed the defending
champs (Cam Secret & Katie Mason) in two straight
sets... and it wasn't even close (According to Rich "Big
Idiot" Vanhuizen). Lindsay Barrett and
Ryan Henly won the R2's title over
Danielle Gaudet and Cam "Two Time Loser"
Secret....
Happy Birthday Dick! - July 4, 2003
It's Dick "The King" Scales' birthday
today and Lummer Land would like to wish him a very Happy
Birthday. If you are wondering why you don't get special birthday
wishes, and just noted on the left, it's because you're not "The
King"... Anyway, here's the rest of the weekend
- Saturday - Rich Brew Tournament and K3's - The
Good Dr. will be staying in town to try and bring the trophy
back to The Junk Yard Dogs... it's also Kelowna
Triples this weekend so if you're heading up, drive safe...
or por Noel, "Dribe Sape"...

Run Lummer Run Wins Both...
- July 3, 2003
Well we got through our first two games of Div III unscathed
as we beat John Woo's Call It A Frisbee 13-5 and Huckfin
13-8. Rookie Randi Elphick (She actually intercepted
a pass in the opposing team's end zone for the game winning goal! On that
note, Mimi McKenzie did the same thing in the second
game as well) was the MVP while Carson "Lummer
2.2" was the Bed Shitter. I guess the upgrade
didn't include a "Catching Patch"...
Salt
Spring Island... - June 30, 2003
The Good Dr. and Adrienne Sankey made
the trek over to Salt Spring Island to play in an Island
Sport & Social Club Volleyball Tournament
on the weekend and ended up making it to the Semi Final.
We actually made the semi final but opted not to play as we wanted to
catch the 5:50pm rather than the 9:35pm ferry. Could have won but we'll
never know... On another note, Run Lummer Run is back
at it again tonight at UBC for a double header... moved
up a division so should be some good games...
The Weekend... - June 27, 2003
Here we go...
- Friday - No plans... yet.
- Saturday - Sunday - Salt Spring Island - Heading
over for a volleyball tournament/business. Should be a good one though...

Run Lummer Run Wins Two - June
24, 2003
We managed to win both games of our Double Header against
Floppy Disks and Plastic Jesus. The
Good Dr. was the Bed Shitter with his lack lustre
handling while Jude Popp was the MVP.
Quote of The Game comes from Tavia Cosper:
"I can't believe how nice they are... if I was losing
8-1 I would be a total bitch". Tavia
was expressing how nice the other team was even though we were up on
them by quite a bit.
The Weekend... - June 23, 2003
Good times...
- Friday -
For Osaka - Great food and and even greater entertainment.
The cooks there are pretty amazing and the food was awesome as well...
I recommend the Filet Mignon. Oh yeah, we were out
celebrating Randi Elphick's birthday.
- Saturday -
For The Swingers - I didn't name the team but we ended up losing
in the finals of the Fire Fighters volleyball tournament
in White Rock. Bed Shitter goes to
Cam Secret who tipped a ball into the net on game point
in the first set. BRUTUAL! (Not a typo). When do you
tip on game point? NEVER!
The Weekend... - June 20, 2003
A few things...
- Friday - Randi's Birthday @ Osaka - We're heading
out for Randi's birthday tonight at Osaka Restaurant
and then out from there after...
- Saturday - Fire Fighters VBall Tournament In White Rock
- Navi and Don have put a squad together
and we are heading to White Rock to try and win the
Grass Co-ed 6's tournament. Should be a good one.
- Sunday - No plans... yet.
The Weekend... - June 17th, 2003
Here's how it went...
Friday The 13th! - June 13, 2003
I remember one fateful Friday the 13th four years ago
in August... Explorers don't float... Anyway, here's the rest of the weekend...
- Saturday - 24 Hour Relay - I may be out there running
a couple laps... I also may not be. Either way, I'll be out on the town
some where...
- Sunday - Canoeing/Camping - I'm off to Widgeon
Creek to paddle/fish/hike & camp... see ya later city slickers...

Toy Cop & Team Lummer Land
Tie... - June 10, 2003
The Good Dr. thought he had it in the bag as he was 23
points up going into the final round... However, Brandon
"I am not a criminal" Steel had 3 guys left plus the
Goalie for New Jersey while all of Team Lummer Land's
players were eliminated. Brandon made a huge run and
managed to tie up the pool with a shut out in game 7 of the Stanley
Cup Finals. There will be co-champions in this years Ninde
Cup.

Run Lummer Run Wins Double Header! -
June 10, 2003
According to Pat Bradley, we ended up winning both games
of our double header last night against That's Hockey
and Surface Hoars. Mimi McKenzie was
the MVP and Pat (Self nominated) and
Simon Doran (Stayed home to watch hockey) were the bed
shitters. Thanks for the update Patty!
Quote of The Game comes from Tavia Cosper:
"I love when Jude's out of town cause I can wear whatever
I want". Tavia was quoting on the
fact that she was wearing a tight cutoff shirt which every guy on the
field was appreciating.
Happy Birthday George! - June 9, 2003
It's George's birthday and Lummer Land
would like to wish him a very Happy Birthday. George
is 65 today and is officially a senior!
If you would like to send him a birthday wish, georgelum@telus.net.
Anyway, here's the rest of the weekend...
- Friday - Hoops Windup Party - The Rugby Grill,
The Roxy, Turn & Run - Started off at The Rugby
Grill, then went to The Roxy... good times
until Randi got a hold of us and The Good Dr.
tucked his tail between his legs and ran for the door. Didn't want it
to be too much of a gong show as I had to be on the court @ 8:30 am
the next morning
- Saturday & Sunday - NBA Hoop It Up & Sooz's Birthday
- The Good Dr. will definitely have
to take the bed shitter award for that tourney... We also celebrated
Susan Tucker's Birthday on Saturday night. Thanks for
the BBQ Doug & Sooz!

John & Erica
- McTrash...
McPhelps
Wedding - May 30 - June 2, 2003
First and foremost I would like to thank Joy & Mike Phelps,
Elouise & Rick McParland and John & Erica
McPhelps for a great weekend up in the Okanagan.
An unbelievable weekend that was unforgettable...
The Weekend... - June 3, 2003
Good times...
- Friday - Monday - McPhelps Wedding - First and foremost
I would like to thank Joy & Mike Phelps, Elouise
& Rick McParland and John & Erica McPhelps
for a great weekend up in the Okanagan. Update and
photos to follow...
- Sunday - Team Lummer Land Loses By Default - Nice
going ass holes. I go away for one weekend and we can't field a team.
Stupid Fockers.

Monday - Run Lummer Run Wins... - A very tired RLR team
beat The Sauce 13-10. MVP goes to
Diesel for a great defensive play and then a hard sprint
for the end zone for the winning score to seal the game. Pat
Bradley is the Bed Shitter as he decided not
to show up as he was in Penticton all weekend at the
McPhelps wedding... apparently, Tavia, Jude
and The Good Dr. (Sarcasm) weren't
there. Anyway, be
sure to check out The
Vancouver Ultimate League Homepage for the latest scores and
stats.
Quote of The Game comes from Jude Popp:
"You know what really bothers me? People."
Jude was obviously VERY
tired from the weekend, as we all were, and said this under his breath
after the other team INSISTED that we come over and
do something together for the sake of spirit. Well Jude,
we ALL thought it, YOU said it.
Just got back from Penticton (1 hour before game
time), tired and hung over. You do the math, leave us alone. The LAST
thing we want to do is cheer and be merry.
McPhelps Wedding - May 30, 2003
Off to Penticton for the wedding so enjoy your weekends
kids...
Run Lummer Run Splits - May
27, 2003
The first game was brutes and we beat a short handed team 13-11
as we certainly did not play very well. The Good Dr.
quickly became Ike as the decision making was absolutely
horrendous. We ended up winning and turned it around and played a solid
game but lost 14-12. That game was MUCH
better but still way too many turnovers. I guess unforced errors are inevitable
when you're not very good at Ultimate... MVP
goes to Taryn Wood and her friend Allison
who came out for the very first time. Nice job ladies. Ike
will have to take Bed Shitter honours for his bad attitude....
A - N - G - R - Y. Anyway, be sure to check out The
Vancouver Ultimate League Homepage for the latest scores and stats.
Quote of The Game comes from Taryn Wood:
"Smell my snatch...". Taryn said
this to the Good Dr. as there was an essence of crap
in the air and she thought it might be on her shorts from diving...
can't say I've had too many requests like that but who am I to argue!
The Weekend... - May 26, 2003
Just an average one...
- Friday - Bimini's - Some how ended up at Bimini's
and had a few...
- Saturday - Justin's Surprise Birthday - Karen
ĶÚJa great job organizing a surprise birthday for Justin Padvaiskas'
30th at Scales' place. The Good Dr.
didn't have a strong performance and feels very ashamed. Could be due
to the "rare" piece of pork, and the beers, that he had. Apparently
only steak is meant to be eaten rare. Oh well, live and learn. My apologies
goes out to The Champ as I snuck out early without
saying goodbye as it was much easier to leave and catch shit after as
opposed to trying to leave the party early. My bad Champ.
- Sunday - Team Lummer Land Loses... Twice - Team
Lummer Land (Ken Kilpatrick and John McParland) lost in the
semifinals of the Kits Classic Beach Volleyball tournament
to the young kids from Victoria. Team Lummer
Land Hoops, also lost in the semifinals of Coed Basketball
to the Basketcases 100-92. We didn't have a great game
and they didn't miss. They simply played better than us. MVP
honours goes to Randi for some great shooting while
Bed Shitter goes to The Good Dr. for
very sub par shooting. Oh well, it was a great season anyway. We've
got the Bronze medal game next week so hopefully we
play a bit better in that one.
Quote of The Weekend comes from JP "Champ"
Reimer:
Click to download the
phone message he left me after I left the party early on Saturday without
saying goodbye. My bad Champ. I tucked my tail between
my legs and ran... too much beer and raw pork!
The Weekend... - May 23, 2003
Bad form weather...
- Friday - Sports! - NBA and NHL
playoffs continue so the Good Dr. will be
parked in front of a TV this evening...
- Saturday - Kit's Classic - Although it's supposed
to rain, should be some good ball... oh well, there should be a good
social later in the evening.
- Sunday - First Round of Playoffs For Team Lummer Land
- We managed to finish first overall so we are playing the Basketcases
at 1:00pm (Thanks for the time change Biraj!).
The winner advances to the Finals next week.

Run Lummer Run Wins... Finally! - May 20, 2003
Technically we won our first game of the season last night by beating
Lucky Charms 13-5 and Inyerendo 13-6,
although we beat a team short handed but had to default our first week.
It was a much better effort by everyone but Mimi McKenzie
will have to take MVP honours as she made big catches
time and time again. Angie "Tragic" Pajic also
played very well, I mean, caught very well and should be commended. Bed
Shitter honours has to go to the Good Dr., although
he played well, but failed to make a highlight reel catch that was clearly
in his grasps. Tough catch, but I should have had it. Anyway,
be sure to check out The
Vancouver Ultimate League Homepage for the latest scores and stats.
Quote of The Game comes from Mike Dalziel:
"Stack on me!". Mike shouted
this out on a turnover. This is actually the Gay Quote of The
Game. The real Quote of The Game comes from
Jude Popp: "That guy is clearly faster
than me...". Well Jude, when you're
right you're right. It should also be noted that The Popper
is playing on a bum ankle as he was streaking a staggette a couple months
ago and fell down the stairs and twisted his ankle.

John
- That is one ugly stache...
McP's Stag Photos -
May 17, 2003
Well, it certainly wasn't your typical stag (Guys reading books on the
plane, ordering tea - with honey & lemon - with dinner, bike rides
and NO STRIPPERS!!!) but it sure was a good time. Anyway, check out the
photos to see more action
from the weekend...
The Weekend... - May 16, 2003
Well, sorry about not getting the photos up but it was a bit of a busy
week... most likely by the end of the weekend though... Anyway, the Good
Dr. is staying in town this long weekend, but for those of you
who are traveling drive safely... or "Dribe Sapely"
por Noel...
The Weekend... - May 13, 2003
Well, it certainly was a gong show
down south and photos will be posted later this week. Here's an updated
on hoops and Ulti Anyway.
- Sunday - Team Lummer Land (Hoops)
Wins Regular Season! - We ended up finishing 6-1
on the season for round robin and ended up coming first overall. We
play in two weeks (Long Weekend coming up) against the 4th place team.
- Monday - Run Lummer Run Licks
Balls - Yeah we lost both our double header games so we suck.
First game we had a bit of a rough start, got down 0-5 but I think we
can attribute that to 5 straight drunken days of debauchery in Hermosa
Beach on the weekend (We actually got back in Vancouver @ 4:00pm
that day). It also didn't help when the other team's "Veterans"
(Ultimate Nerds as I like to call them), took advantage of our rookies
(IE. their very first ultimate game ever) at opportune times. I thought
it was very bad "Spirit" (I use that word to make fun of those
Ultimate fags who actually believe in it) or in other words, they had
no balls. Do I sound pissed? In the famous words of Samuel L.
Jackson, "You're DAMN right I do!"
Nothing wrong with playing hard, but cheating, that's one thing that
will bring Ike out in a heart beat without Crown...
and it did last night. A - N - G - R - Y.
Hermosa Beach Here We Come! - May 8, 2003
We (Pat Bradley, Mike Dalziel, Jay Edwards, Steve Hall, John McParland,
Jude Popp and The Good Dr.) are heading south to California
for McP's Stag this weekend. Safe to say it's going to
be a gong show. On another note, Scott Witter and "The
Big Idiot" (Rich Vanhuizen) are down there as well.
Run Lummer Run Loses... By
Default! - May 6, 2003
Well, the other team was in their rights to make us default but we offered
to play short handed as we only had two girls... instead they made us
default. Grow some balls. So we decided to play anyway and shit kick them
10-3 (They were luck to even get 3 by the way). Anyway,
be sure to check out The
Vancouver Ultimate League Homepage for the latest scores and stats.
Quote of The Game comes from Mimi McKenzie:
Pat: "What are those bruises from?" (Commenting
on the bruises on the front of Mimi's upper thigh..."
Mimi: "They're from pushing against the counter...",
said she with a smirk on her face... hmmm, sounds like fun actually...
We're Back! - May 5, 2003
Well, I sided out the last web hosting company as they licked balls but
we are now up and running again! I realize there are going to be some
photos that got lost in the mix but they will be up later on in the week
so please be patient... Anyway, here's the weekend report...
- Friday - Nucks Win! - Not a great game but we won
so who cares!
- Saturday - Malone's, Bimini's & The Side Door...
- Hit a few places that evening, good times...
- Sunday - Team Lummer Land Wins 97-90 - We didn't
have a solid game but a win is a win. Bed Shitter award
has to go to Dave Taussig as he missed a "few"
easy layups with a guy 8 inches shorter than him guarding him. MVP
award goes to Jessie Vaid who was an absolute monster
down low and was unstoppable. That win puts us in the top division playoffs.
A win next week seals first place for us for the playoffs...
The Weekend...
- May 2, 2003
I know the Joke of The Day is down, and it will remain down until I get
my new server up and running so please be patient... should be some time
next week. Until then, check back here for normal updates...
- Friday
- Canucks Game @ Lummer Land - Call if you would like to attend.
- Saturday
- No plans yet...
- Sunday
- Team Lummer Land Looks To Bounce Back - We are looking to
regroup after our first loss last week... we play R&R @
5:30pm so it should be a good one...
Sorry
For The Delayed Updates, But... - April 28, 2003
My ftp server has been down since last Thursday so I haven't been able
to make any updates so I'll post them on another server temporarily...
Playoffs... - April 24, 2003
It's playoff night tonight and all team Safeway members
will ave their game faces on... we are looking to defend our title as
Tier II Shit League Champions. A brief autograph
signing session will be held at Malone's afterwards...
The Weekend... - April 21, 2003
Hope you enjoyed your long weekends...
- Friday - Game # 5 & Brentie - What a game! After
that, dropped by to see Brentie as he was in town for a short while.
- Saturday - Malone's in Kits, The Roxy, Malone's Downtown,
The Roxy, The Cellar, The Vineyard - Enough said.
- Sunday - Game 6 & Easter Dinner - Great game
by the Canucks although they played short handed the
entire game. If it wasn't for the refs St. Louis wouldn't
have even scored! After that, it was Easter Dinner
at Nish's and Shana put on an unbelievable
spread! I can guarantee she can cook the best damn turkey for a vegetarian!
We're Staying On Court 1! - April 18, 2003
Well, same old, same old, we split again... we just don't try until we
absolutely have to... I don't get it... oh well, we're still there though.
Mike Dalziel was the MVP as he was absolutely
dropping bombs from the front row, back row and even the service line.
Also some good times had by all at Malone's... Anyway, no major plans
for Easter Weekend... perhaps a little work though.
Driving Truck? Hand Bomb? - April 17, 2003
Well I was working for Skills Canada the past couple days "Driving
Truck", and I picked up a new term, "Hand Bombing"
- Apparently it's when you have to load a truck by hand instead of a fork
lift... Anyway, enough about that, on to more important issues... Team
Safeway is back at it and are looking to start building momentum
for the playoffs... We could be at full strength if The Popper
is back and Steve Hall is away...
The Weekend... - April 14, 2003
Not much sleep as I've got a deadline for tomorrow... knock on wood...
- Friday - The Roller... - Somehow ended up at The
Roller and didn't get home until 4:00am...
had to be up at 8:00 am the next day to start working
so it was perfect!
- Saturday - The Drink? - An interesting place... The
place was VERY dark and I saw a guy in there with VERY dark shades on...
wow was he cool, I actually went to the car to get my shades. Couldn't
stomach too much of that place so I left after one... could be why it's
called The Drink.
- Sunday - Team
Lummer Land Torches Blaze! - Well our winning streak continues
as we managed to beat Blaze 92-84. Bed Shitter
honours HAS to go to Jessie "I can't make
a frickin layup if my samosa eatin ass depended on it" Vaid
as he just couldn't find the hoop... on a related note, he had a TON
of offensive rebounds. Thanks for shooting so poorly Vader,
it would have been me and my sub par performance for sure! On another
note, Michelle "Money" Collens was the games
MVP as she was draining shots from all over the court
including some big 3's near the end of the game. Navi
had a couple dunks and Angie Pajic
clearly reminded him, as usual, that they're still only worth two. Thanks
for the tip bitch. No games scheduled for next week as it's Easter
Weekend. Enjoy your Mondays Fockers!
Staying On Court #1 - April 11, 2003
Well, the another team decided not to show up, I guess to watch the Canucks
get worked over by them damn Blues, so we ended up staying
up by default. We ended up playing a half assed game and lost but it didn't
matter. Hopefully next week we'll start to put it together. Pat
Bradley was the MVP by default as he passed
on the Canucks game to play for Team Safeway...
hindsight, he made the right call. Anyway, here's the scoop for the weekend.
- Friday - The Rugby Club & Noel's Birthday - It's
Randi's last day of exams today and we are going to
go out and tip a few in honour of that. After that, we will most likely
hook up with Noel for his 34th birthday.
Yes 34.
- Saturday - Scalesy & Jaclyn's Birthday - Starting
off in Richmond and then we will be out down town somewhere
to celebrate some birthdays. Scalesy is turning the
big 3-0 on Sunday so this one might
get ugly... for him that is.
- Sunday - Team Lummer Land Takes On Blaze - We are
up against Blaze @ 4:20pm today and we are looking
to keep our winning streak alive, currently it's at 10.

The Ninde Cup Is Back! - April
10, 2003
Two time defending champ Brandon "I am not
a criminal" Steele is looking to three-peat
this year and is off to a quick start this year... Anyway, the Eric's
are looking to bring the trophy back to the good side... an "Eric"
has won the pool in 8 of the 10 years in it's existence and was even named
the "Eric" cup before it was re-named the "Ninde
Cup" in honour of our good friend Ned Mander.
Best of luck boys!
Back On Court #1 - April 10, 2003
We are looking to over come the hump and win Court #1...
either way, we'll be at Malone's later...
Another Eventful One... - April 7, 2003
Busy as usual...
- Friday - Kyle's Stag... @ THE PIT!
- For some God forsaken reason, we ended up going to The Pit
for one of Kyle Recsky's stag weekend parties. Nothing
against The Pit except they made me check my cane at
the door...
- Saturday - Reffed... ALL DAY LONG - Well, it's safe
to say that the Good Dr. will NEVER REF AGAIN,
as the compensation was not nearly enough for the work (11 straight
matches without a break - 11 1/2 hours). Anyway, ended up at Malone's
for a couple after so it wasn't all bad.
- Sunday - Team Lummer Land
Continues To Roll - We managed to beat the MP Ballerz
and extended our Round Robin record to 3-0. Navi
was clearly the Bed Shitter as he missed a dunk and
put up an airball (In his defense, he threw down a two-hander a few
plays later). Randi Elphick clearly was the MVP
as her jumper was on fire. Pat Bradley and Jenny
Wong were honourable mentions for their outstanding play. Cam
also continued to show why he is an excellent replacement for the team
quitter.
Quote of The Game comes from Angie Pajic:
"Don't worry Nav, just stick to two handers on eight
foot hoops... then you'll be fine." The "Bitch",
as I like to refer to her as, was making fun of Navi
for missing a dunk during the game.
Blah, Blah, Blah, We're Staying On Court #1 - April 4, 2003
We managed yet another split to stay up on court #1 even
without Jude Popp who suffered and ankle injury last
week... not at volleyball but during the extra curricular activities afterwards
at The Cat's Meow. Mike Dalziel was
clearly the MVP, he was there this week, as he absolutely
pummeled balls. Front row, back row, he could only be described as A-N-G-R-Y...
Once again the setting, specifically the selection, was suspect. After
that we ended up going to back to our roots to Malone's
where we signed autographs and enjoyed some festivities till at least
2:00 am... Week #1 done. Anyway, here's
the rest of the weekend...
- Friday - Nicole Hennelly's Birthday & Kyle's Stag
- The rumour is that there will be some peeps heading out to The
Copper Tank to celebrate Nicole's birthday...
Angry Pat will be there so it sounds like trouble.
It's also Kyle Recsky's stag weekend and apparently
some of the boys will be heading out this weekend...
- Saturday - Refing In Maple Ridge? - I somehow got
roped into refing a vball tourney in Maple Ridge so
I'll be out there for the most part of the day. The evening is still
up in the air...
- Sunday - Team Lummer Land Tips Off @ 4:15pm - Hopefully
the team can keep rolling against the MP Ballerz and
keep their winning streak alive.
Safeway & Malone's? - April 3, 2003
Could this really be true? Safeway and Malone's
on a Thursday night? After Tier II shit league,
we will most likely head to Malone's to pickup where
we left off from the Summer...

The Big Idiot Back On The
AVP! - April 1, 2003
It's true, Rich "Big Idiot" Vanhuizen is back
on the AVP tour as the foreign player policy has been
lifted. Anyway, congrats big guy, I'll be sure to make a trip down south...

Eric & Mia
- Malone's is Back!

The Cougar
- She's back and ready to raise hell...
It's Good To Be Back... - March 31, 2003
It's official, Malone's is back... On another note, so
is the Cougar...
- Friday - Malone's -
Ended up going to see Star Trek Nemesis,
,
at The Hollywood and then dropped by Malone's
for opening night. It felt REALLY good to be back at home...
- Saturday - Andy Dunn's Party - Andy
and company had a great party out in Richmond. Always
nice to see some old folks from Richmond.
- Sunday - Team Lummer Land
Wins A Close One - It took some last second heroics from
Navi (Last second three to put us up by two) to keep
us undefeated in Division A by defeating Team
Vincent 90-88. The Good Dr. was unable to
attend due to prior engagements, and it's pretty safe to say he was
the bed shitter as the team almost lost because of
his absence.

We're Staying On Court #1 - March 28, 2003
We managed a split again this week so we are staying on Court #1. Mike
Dalziel was named the MVP as he was the only
member not there. Once again, Malone's failed to open
no liquor permit or something, no big surprise there. As far as I'm concerned,
that place ain't open until I'm sitting there getting served by a pretty
girl... Anyway, here's the scoop for the rest of the weekend.
- Friday - Chill - Possibly hit a movie at The
Hollywood.
- Saturday - Party In Richmond - Hitting a local party
in the hood...
- Sunday - Team Lummer Land Tips Off @ 2:00pm - Team
Lummer Land may be without the services of The Good
Dr. as he has another engagement to attend to. Hopefully we
will extend our winning streak... wait a sec, Navi
is going to be there so we should be ok!
Court #1 & Malone's! - March 27, 2003
Yeah, you heard right, Malone's in Kits is re-opening
tonight and the Safeway boys will be there for sure.
What a big night, Court #1 and our favourite watering
hole opening again. On another note, MJ is still "THE
MAN" and I saw it first hand last night in Seattle.
Thanks for the memories Mike!

His Last Dance... - March 26, 2003
The Good Dr. has managed to procure a box seat
for the Seattle Sonics vs. Washington Wizards game for
tonight in Seattle (Thanks Lee!). He
will be heading south for the evening to watch "The Man"
play his final game in Seattle (Assuming neither team
makes the NBA Finals).
The Weekend... - March 24, 2003
Busy...
We're Staying On Court #1! - March 21, 2003
We are clearly the most dominant team, when we want to be, as we dominated
game 1 vs. the "No. 1 Seed" 25-12. After that we kinda lost
interest and dropped the next two... however, we still managed to beat
the other team to remain on Court #1. Anyway, here's the scoop for the
weekend...
- Friday - Chill.
- Saturday - McP In Town - Don't know what the plan
is but we're lighting it up.
- Sunday - Team Lummer Land Tips Off @ 3:00pm - We
play BTR which happens to be the only team that beat
us in the seeding round... We will be looking to avenge that loss...
Room For Rent 46th & Main For April 1, 2003
Two bedroom basement suite - $900 + 1/3 utils,
46th & Main, N/S, private W/D.
- Jenny or Dave.

Team Safeway Debuts on Court #1 Tonight! - March 21, 2003
We finally made it to Court #1 and hopefully our debut
proves to be a success... the team is hungry and wants to prove that we
deserve to be there. Better late than never!
Good Bye Ike... We Will Miss You... - March 17,
2003
Um yeah, you heard right...
- Friday - Vertical & The Roxy... - Celebrated
Brent Wilcott's departure (To Regina
for RCMP training) but I somehow ended up @ The
Roxy. Nice job Brentie!
- Saturday -
Canucks
Bimini's - Went to the Canucks game and saw
them lose 1-0 to Toronto. Nothing worse than losing
to a second rate team from Toronto... After that, it
was Ike's farewell as I let him rip it one last time
at Bimini's as I am hanging up the drinking shoes indefinitely.
Tried to cut it down to once a week but my so called "friends"
wouldn't allow it (Even went so far as to buy me drinks)... so fuck
em, I'm done.
- Sunday - Team Lummer Land
Wins A Close One - We ended up beating Biraj's
solid team 90-87 (Sealed by a hoop late in the game
by Michelle "Money" Collens) as they missed
a last second three to send it into overtime. The Good Dr.
was definitely the "Bed Shitter" as he was
piss poor all game long (Could have had something to do with Ike's
going away party the night before, but who knows...). Cam Secret's
debut showed that he will be a great addition for the remainder of the
year. Overall not a great performance but a win is a win.
Quote of The Weekend comes from Randi Elphic:
Upon hearing that someone was retiring from our basketball
team, this was her response, "Wow! What a big loss!".
I'll let you interpret that in any way you see fit. Sorry quitter,
but you didn't think you were going to get off easy when you QUIT
Team Lummer Land did you?

We're Going To Court #1! - March 14, 2003
Ok, apparently Diesel and The Good Dr.
aren't needed as the rest of the team named us the MVP's
as we didn't go to vball last night and they made it to Court
#1. Well, that's just great guys, we've got one word each for
you. Diesel's is "you" and mine is "fuck",
you choose the order. Anyway, here's the rest of the weekend...
- Friday - Brentie's Leaving! Hooray! - Oh wait, I
mean that's not good... anyway, Brent Wilcott has finally
got the call to Regina for his RCMP
training and leaves this Sunday. Therefore his final
rip up will be this Friday @ Vertical (I of course
will be driving due to my once a week policy and a wedding on Saturday).
- Saturday - Ruby & Parv Getting Married - The
ceremony is during the day but the reception is being held out on the
East Coast in Ontario (Doesn't Canada end in Toronto?). Therefore the
rumour is Bimini's... and this time, the Good Dr. will be attending.
- Sunday - Navi, I Mean Team Lummer Land Tries To Extend Win
Streak To 6 - We are up against the Basketcases @ 6:30pm.
Both teams are 5-1 so we will be playing for first
in our Division.
The Weekend... - March 10, 2003
Well, stuck to my guns and only went out on Saturday...
- Friday - Chilled.
- Saturday - DCX Wins Mountain Shadow Challenge & The Cellar
- Greg Poitras and Cam Secret (Kelowna
Triples Champs) of DCX laid the smack down
on Paul Chu's Team Ez two straight in the final (Actually
on Sunday) and won $500 as a team. It was also nice
to see Dave Braun's (An ORIGINAL X-Men Member)
Molson team beat The X-Men 2-1 in
the quarters and send them home early. After that we
went to the Mountain Shadow and then went to The
Cellar and danced up a storm. Ike was out
and doing some very fine, and firm, ass slapping (Come on, he only gets
to come out once a week now!).
- Sunday - Team Lummer Land
Wins Again! - Well, it's safe to say we sink or swim with
Navi... he shot VERY well and we ended up beating a
tough Blaze team 98-86. Angie
Pajic definitely earned "Bed Shitter" honours
as she failed to score until the final buzzer (The other team actually
passed her the ball so she could make a layup... took a couple tries).
She missed A LOT but you have to give her credit... she kept shooting!

We're Going To Court #2! - March 7, 2003
Well we managed to scrape by a couple three set victories and made our
way back up to Court #2. Pat "Hundo"
(As in 100% Kill Ratio) Bradley was the MVP,
although Mike Dalziel was a very close second with a
retarded hit straight down that clearly changed the momentum of the third
set in our last match. It should be noted that the Good Dr.
finishes games as he "pummeled" (Hey it was sorta hard!) a back
row ball to finish off the third set... It should also be noted that he
finish's games for either team so don't set him when it's their game point!
After that I ended up @ Tonic to watch Nahida
and her Famous
Players Band rip it up... they rocked! If you ever get the
chance to go and see them I strongly recommend it. Anyway, here's the
rest of the Weekend...
- Friday - No Plans - Something mellow as I am sort
of on the wagon (Only allowed to drink once a week - hey, it's better
than my usual!)
- Saturday - Bimini's...? - Not sure where we are off
to but we may have to rekindle an old flame...
- Sunday - Team Lummer Land's Drive For Five - We are
in tough against a solid Blaze Team @ 1:00pm and hopefully
Navi, I mean we, have a solid performance...
Team Safeway At It Again... - March 6, 2003
Fear not it is a long season and we are starting our march once again
for Court #1... The absence of Jude Popp
will make the task a little more difficult, however, Steve Hall
is away so that helps...
Knock On Wood... - March 5, 2003
But just got an email through the grapevine and apparently Malone's
in Kits is planning on opening up again, REALLY, so hopefully
it'll happen... Say goodnight to your livers on Thursday
nights...
The Weekend... - March 3, 2003
Holy crap it's March already...
- Friday - UBC
Beats Regina 80-69 - #3 ranked UBC Men's Basketball
team beat #8 Regina 80-69 in an exciting game and qualified
for the National Championships next weekend in Halifax, NS. Ex-Richmond
Colts Kyle Russell and Karlo
Villanueva both had solid games.
- Saturday - UBC
Wins Canada West - Kyle Russell poured
in 43 as UBC won the Canada
West Final 82-79 over Alberta. They are off
to Nationals in Halifax this week and Lummer Land would
like to wish them the best of luck!
- Sunday - Team Lummer Land
Wins 4 In A Row - Blah, blah, blah, we won again... 94-85
over MP Ballers. The Good Dr. earned Bed
Shitter honours when he hurt his back on the opening play and
was unable to play full speed for the remainder of the game... Angie
Pajic was the MVP with her hot shooting and
offensive rebounding. Navi was ok too I guess.
Quote of The Weekend comes from Elga Tiamzon:
"Do you have cake?" (Or was that
"Do you habe cake?" Noel). We were at Vertical
and she asked for cake, not a menu, not dessert, but cake. In her
defense she already had dinner...
